Transgender carer found guilty of murdering her MS-Suffering father

Jonathan Rees QC secured the conviction of Claire Darbyshire. She was found guilty of murdering her father, an MS sufferer, on September 2nd last year. Ms Darbyshire was today sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of four years. The case attracted much national media attention; BBC News Sky News

Martin Heslop QC secures acquittal of 20 year old in gang related South London stabbing

Following two weeks of evidence at the Old Bailey, His Honour Judge Paul Worsley QC accepted Martin Heslop QC’s submission of no case against his client in a six handed gangland stabbing case. The submission was based upon the effect of Martin Heslop’s cross examination of the prosecution witnesses which very substantially destroyed the prosecution case. Jonathan Laidlaw QC represents trainer before British Horseracing Authority

Jonathan Laidlaw QC acts for Mr Jim Best, the racehorse trainer, in the proceedings before the British Horseracing authority.
