Will Martin appointed Treasury Counsel Monitoree
Will Martin has been appointed to the Treasury Counsel monitoree scheme commencing April 2024.
Treasury Counsel are a team of specialist advocates, appointed by the Attorney General in consultation with the Director of Public Prosecutions, who prosecute the most serious and complex cases in the country, as well as advising government departments. The title Treasury Counsel derives from the days when all Crown counsel at the Central Criminal Court were instructed by the Treasury Solicitor.
In order to be appointed as Junior Treasury Counsel every applicant must undertake a three-year period of monitoring.
There are currently three Treasury Counsel from 2 Hare Court – Junior Treasury Counsel Sarah Przybylska, Julia Faure Walker – and First Senior Treasury Counsel, Oliver Glasgow KC. Fiona Robertson will take up her position as Junior Treasury Counsel in April 2024.
