Sallie Bennett Jenkins QC Secures Acquittal in Victim Right to Review Case

Following her representations on the application of the Victim Right to Review case, Sallie Bennett Jenkins QC secured the acquittal of GH, who was charged with rape.

GH was a man of good character in his 50’s and had previously been told that there was to be no further action taken against him after he had been charged with rape. Without warning, 6 months later he was requisitioned to the Magistrates Court, when the CPS had purported to review the case and after 16 months, proceed against him.

Following his acquittal, GH has applied for recovery of costs, which are still ongoing.

Sallie was instructed by Gary Bloxsome of Blackfords.
