Brendan Kelly KC and Vivienne Tanchel represented Mr Mohammed Zina in a 12 week trial at Southwark Crown Court. Mr Zina faced a nine count indictment, six counts of insider dealing and three counts of fraud. The case was prosecuted by the FCA.

Mr Zina was an analyst at Goldman Sachs at the time the allegations arose and he was the most junior member of the Conflicts Resolution Group.

During the course of the trial, highly unusual and extraordinary issues arose in respect of the conduct of and evidence given by the prosecution witnesses one of whom was interviewed under caution by the police on suspicion of having been in contempt of court.

The case was followed by all the major financial and national press organisations including the Financial Times, The Times, Bloomberg, CNN and the Wall Street Journal who reported it as one of the most important insider dealing cases of recent years.

Counsel were instructed and ably assisted by Cindy Dorrington of Bivonas Law.
