Peter Lownds represents doctor accused of dishonesty and witness intimidation in Fitness to Practice hearing before the GMC

Peter Lownds represented Dr A who was accused of multiple acts of dishonesty, surrounding both an application he made to a health care planning board committee and its subsequent investigation, and separate representations it was alleged he made about his arrangements for supervision and appraisal. During the proceedings, an additional allegation was made that Dr A had intimidated a GMC witness.

Following a three-week hearing, involving extensive cross-examination of seven GMC witnesses, the Panel determined that the allegations were not proved and exonerated him of any misconduct.
