Fiona Robertson has been appointed to the Treasury Counsel monitoree scheme commencing in Autumn 2021.
Treasury Counsel are a team of specialist advocates, appointed by the Attorney General in consultation with the Director of Public Prosecutions, who prosecute the most serious and complex cases in the country, as well as advising government departments.
In order to be appointed as Junior Treasury Counsel every applicant must undertake a two-year period of monitoring. Once appointed as monitorees, they undertake a series of monitored cases with performance assessed by a combination of instructing solicitors, leading advocates, members of the judiciary and opponents.
There are currently 18 Treasury Counsel including 3 from 2 Hare Court – Junior Treasury Counsel Sarah Przybylska and Julia Faure Walker – and first Senior Treasury Counsel, Oliver Glasgow QC.
