Michael Hayton QC elected Leader of the Northern Circuit

Michael Hayton QC has been elected by the members of the Northern Circuit as its Leader. He will begin his three year term on 1 January 2017, and will be the youngest ever silk to lead the Northern Circuit.

The Circuit Leader is elected from those members of the circuit who hold the rank of Queen’s Counsel. Michael’s role will include chairing the Executive Committee of the Northern Circuit, representing the Circuit on the Bar Council and promoting the interests of Circuit members. He will be heavily involved alongside the local judiciary in the circuit administration of all the major Circuit court centres including Manchester, Liverpool and Preston.

Michael’s election further enhances 2 Hare Court’s reputation as a chambers with a national reputation in all our areas of practice and increases our profile particularly on the Northern Circuit.
