2 Hare Court is delighted to announce that Baroness Levitt KC has returned to Chambers, with immediate effect.
Alison Levitt KC first joined 2 Hare Court early in her career, before going on to hold a number of senior positions across the criminal justice system, private practice and the judiciary. She was Principal Legal Advisor to the Director of Public Prosecutions, Sir Keir Starmer KC, from 2009 to 2014, and subsequently established and headed a White-Collar Crime and Investigations practice at Mishcon de Reya.
Alison returned to 2 Hare Court in 2018, where she practised in serious and complex criminal matters and led major investigations and independent reviews, before becoming a Circuit Judge in 2021.
She was appointed a Life Peer in December 2024 and formally introduced to the House of Lords in early 2025, where she sits as Baroness Levitt KC.
She served as Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State in the Ministry of Justice from September 2025 to July 2026.
Her return to Chambers will see her resume her practice, with particular expertise in business crime and financial services, private prosecutions, and inquiries and investigations.
