Christopher Geering
Christopher joined Chambers in April 2011, following the successful completion of his pupillage. He has established a successful practice in both prosecuting and defending in the Crown Court. He has been instructed to defend in cases involving offences of violence (including s. 20 GBH and threats to kill), dishonesty, and possession of drugs with intent to supply.
In addition to instructions from the Crown Prosecution Service, he also prosecutes on behalf of the Department of Work and Pensions and is regularly instructed by the Serious Organized Crime Agency to train its officers in courtroom skills and the trial process.
Christopher has assisted members with the investigation into allegations of international corruption made against former government ministers from the Turks and Caicos Islands. This included researching international restraint proceedings and providing detailed analysis for the assistance of prosecution counsel.
He is increasingly involved in professional discipline work. He is currently seconded to the Nursing and Midwifery Council where he regularly conducts full Fitness to Practise hearings before both the Health Committee and the Conudct and Competence Committee.
Before joining 2 Hare Court Christopher worked for two years in both the Westminster and European Parliaments as a parliamentary assistant and researcher. This involved working closely with the Northern Ireland Affairs Select Committee, and the European Home Affairs Committee.
