Andrew Radcliffe KC’s Retirement

After 49 years of practice, of which 35 years were spent with us – initially at 1 Hare Court until our move to No. 2 Hare Court – Andrew retired as of 31 March 2024. He has been the master of white collar crime, defending in this jurisdiction in many of the major fraud, bribery and corruption and money laundering trials of recent years. He was also much sought after in the Cayman Islands and in the Turks and Caicos. Chambers & Partners, in its latest edition, described him as “understatedly brilliant”, which is exactly what he was, right way through to the age of 72 and his retirement. There are few of which this could be said. But away from his great success at the Bar both here and in overseas jurisdictions Andrew has been an integral and an essential part of our growth and success as a chambers. Our present position in the marketplace would not have been possible without him. As a previous Chair of our Management Committee, the member of countless other committees and as mentor to many and a friend to all, he represents the very essence of 2HC. A real team player and we (and, of course, his friends and colleagues outside Chambers) will miss him terribly. We wish Andrew a long, happy and healthy retirement and we look forward to seeing him at both the summer party and our annual dinner in October where he will be our much loved and esteemed guest.
