Criminal Regulatory

Peter has considerable experience in dealing with cases involving workplace accidents having acted at inquests for families of the bereaved, employers and individual professional workers. He has dealt with a wide range of cases involving workplace fatalities, deaths in hospitals and the death of a pupil on a school trip. His cases in 2018 included representing a GP at an inquest into the death of a resident at a care home who had been sectioned by the police. Earlier this year he represented another GP at an inquest into the death of Amber Peat, a teenage school child who hung herself.

In a particularly high profile criminal case he successfully defended a pilot of a helicopter charged with manslaughter following a fatality at Long Marston Airfield during an incident involving the Warwickshire Hunt.

He has also acted as counsel on two major independent inquiries into homicides committed by patients with mental health problems.
