R v JG – 2023

Led junior defending a 21 year old man charged with conspiracy to murder, murder and conspiracy to possess firearms. The incidents involved gang warfare and shootings in broad daylight.

R v KH – Ongoing

Currently instructed as junior counsel in a murder trial at the Central Criminal Court for an 18 year old defendant.

R v TG – Ongoing

Currently instructed as sole counsel defending TG accused of serious sexual offences in the context of his professional work as a doctor.

Hannah has a thriving white-collar crime practice both as a led junior and alone. She recently acted as junior counsel for James Stunt in one of the biggest money laundering prosecutions ever brought in the UK.

R v SS – 2024

Defended SS who was acquitted of a rogue trading fraud worth over £100,000 following successful legal submissions.

R v James Stunt – 2025

Led junior acting for James Stunt in one of the biggest money laundering prosecutions ever brought in the UK. Mr Stunt was accused of laundering £266 million of cash through a joint venture with another company. He was the only defendant acquitted after a five-month trial.

R v RA – Ongoing

Currently instructed as sole counsel defending RA who is accused of a series of romance frauds and sexual offences is considered ‘one of the top 100 threats to women’ by the Metropolitan Police.

Inquests & Public Inquiries

Notable Cases:

Inquest into the death of JA – 2024

Hannah acted for the GP in the inquest into the death of JA, a high-profile inquest where the deceased died from the ingestion of food ordered from Deliveroo that was contaminated with peanuts. The case explored allergy advertising on food delivery platforms and GP reviews of patients with severe allergies. A PFD was issued to NICE. The case attracted significant media attention.

Inquest into the death of MB – 2024

Acted for Dr VR in an inquest concerning the death of a patient following a routine dental procedure. PFD issued to NICE as a result of Hannah’s legal submissions and no adverse findings against her client.

Inquest into the death of PQ – 2023

Acted for a Consultant Obstetrician in the inquest into the death of PQ, a baby who did not survive an emergency C-Section following undiagnosed foetal anaemia. The case involved complex expert evidence in multiple areas including the reading of cardiotocography scans which measure a baby’s heart-rate in utero. The case resulted in no adverse findings against Hannah’s client.

Hannah is known for her stellar representation of medical professionals across a range of regulators. She is often chosen to defend in cases with a linked criminal element – such as sexual offences or dishonesty – due to her linked expertise in criminal law.

Notable Cases:

MPTS v NN – 2024

Represented a doctor accused of misconduct following his convictions for harassment. NN sent a series of ‘revenge porn’ messages to his ex-partner and her boyfriend, received convictions for harassment, and failed to notify the GMC in a timely manner about those convictions. Following a contested hearing the MPTS found that NN’s fitness to practice was not impaired.

MPTS v NR – 2024

Suspension lifted and Dr NR was allowed to return to practice after a Substantive Order Review hearing.

MPTS v AG – 2024

Dr AG was restored to the medical register after a Restoration Hearing following his erasure five years earlier for dishonesty offences.

 

Private Prosecution

Hannah has a keen interest in private prosecution work and is an active member of the PPA. She has been instructed as a junior alone, as a led junior, and has previously been seconded to a white-collar firm to work on a high-profile private prosecution.

Public Prosecution

Hannah is a Grade 3 prosecutor and is often instructed in cases that have a sexual element to them or are particularly challenging.

Hannah also represents HMRC in civil cash forfeiture cases and in the tax tribunal.

Notable Cases:

R v GBB – 2024

Prosecuted a defendant who had smuggled in a kilogram of cocaine into the UK concealed within her own body. The defendant ran the defence of modern slavery.

R v KK – Ongoing

Instructed to prosecute a child sexual offences case where the defendant was caught by undercover police officers.
