Christopher Geering has a strong reputation in the fields of Professional Discipline and Coronial proceedings.
He has recently been shortlisted for the Professional Discipline Junior of the Year award at the Chambers & Partners UK Bar Awards 2024.
He has appeared before all the major healthcare regulators, as well as teaching, surveying and accountancy bodies.
In addition to fitness to practise proceedings, he has appeared in the High Court both for and against the regulator.

Christopher’s practice is primarily focused on professional disciplinary work. In terms of healthcare regulation he regularly prosecutes and defends in the General Medical Council, General Dental Council, General Optical Council, General Pharmaceutical Council, General Chiropractic Council and the Nursing and Midwifery Council. He has also appeared before internal disciplinary proceedings.
Outside of healthcare, Christopher has appeared in numerous cases before the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
He has a significant High Court appellate practice. Whilst he has represented the regulator in the High Court, he primarily appears for or advices registrants on the merits of appealing.
Allied to his professional disciplinary work, Christopher enjoys a significant coronial practice. He has represented NHS Trusts and care homes, as well as individual nurses and doctors in a wide variety of different inquests. He has considerable experience in respect of both Article 2 inquests and jury inquests.
