Lady Justice Thirlwall has published the final report of the Thirlwall Inquiry, which examined the circumstances surrounding events at the Countess of Chester Hospital and their wider implications following the convictions of former neonatal nurse Lucy Letby for the murder and attempted murder of babies at the hospital.
The Inquiry considered the care provided to babies at the hospital, the responses to concerns raised about their treatment, and the wider organisational and governance issues arising from the events.
Kate Blackwell KC and Alexandra Tampakopoulos represented the Senior Managers in post between 2015 and 2018.
Counsel were instructed by Anna Naylor of Weightmans supported by Rosanne McNeil and Lily Grundy.
The report is available here, and Lady Justice Thirlwall’s remarks were livestreamed on YouTube and can be viewed here.
