Eleanor Fox’s client, a 31-year-old man, was acquitted of rape after a 3-day trial at Peterborough Crown Court.

The defendant was alleged to have raped a woman at her home address after they had been on a date that evening. A complaint was made to the police the following morning.

The defence case was that Eleanor’s client had a reasonable belief in consent.

The jury returned a unanimous Not Guilty verdict after one hour of deliberations.

Counsel was instructed by Hunt & Coombs Solicitors.
