News 06/08/2024

On 31st July 2024, two years after proceedings began, following the service of two defence expert reports, the prosecution offered no evidence against all defendants on all charges. The defendants – a car dealership, its director and its general manager – were alleged to have sold vehicles to customers without informing them of outstanding manufacturer recalls. The defendants faced a ten count indictment of engaging in an unfair commercial practice, contrary to regulations 6 and 10 of the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008.

All three defendants were represented by Daniel Chadwick. Daniel was instructed by Kiran Mehta and Michael Nazarian of Hodge Jones & Allen.
