Madeleine Price’s client acquitted of conspiracy to assist unlawful immigration to a member state
Madeleine Price represented one of three defendants charged with conspiracy to assist unlawful immigration to a member state.
The prosecution’s case was that the three defendants conspired with others unknown to affect the clandestine entry of non-UK nationals into France, thus facilitating the commission of breaches of French immigration law.
The individuals were said to have been smuggled from the UK to France in the back of various types of goods vehicles. The prosecution’s case alleged over 40 movements of people to France, involving more than 500 individuals.
Madeleine’s client was the only one to receive a ‘not guilty’ verdict following a two-week trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
Counsel was instructed by Lauren Burton of Emery Halil & Brown Solicitors.
