Announcement

Chambers is sad to report that James Dawson has died, after a long illness.

A stalwart at the Criminal Bar for many years, he will be fondly remembered for his genial and convivial personality as well as his careful and polished advocacy. His old-fashioned modesty perhaps meant that he never pushed his practice to the heights of his potential, but his fairness and judgment shone through in his later work as a Recorder and his voluntary assistance on Bar disciplinary hearings.

Those of us fortunate enough to have known him in his prime will long cherish the memory of his energy and enthusiasm, his infectious smile and his booming laughter. May he rest in peace.
