Following a 4 day trial at Inner London Crown Court the jury acquitted the Defendant of a single count of voyeurism. He was arrested at Cannon Street train station on 10th December 2021 when a woman, who had travelled into Cannon Street for a night out in London, used the female toilets and claimed he had looked over her cubicle door whilst she was urinating. When confronted by station staff, he said he was drunk and had gone into the female toilets by mistake and denied intentionally looking at anyone. He subsequently lost his job and has been stranded in the UK ever since, unable to work without a visa and unable to leave the country due to his bail conditions. A number of witnesses testified at trial as to his exceptional character. He was unanimously acquitted in under 2 hours.
Gudrun Young KC was instructed by Grant Ambridge of Murray Hughman.
