Merry van Woodenberg successfully defended a case at Kingston Crown Court, regarding allegations of sexual and physical assaults on a four year old and a five year old. The case was part of the pilot procedure for pre-recorded cross-examination of young and vulnerable witnesses. The children were also the youngest ever to have participated in an ID procedure.

Merry, having undertaken training on vulnerable witness advocacy, cross-examined both of the children and various other witnesses. The jury acquitted Merry’s client of all charges in under half an hour of deliberations.

Merry was instructed by Julian Waskett of Darton Law.
