After a 10-week trial, Brendan Kelly QC secured the acquittal of Denis Kijakovski who was allegedly involved in the murder of Latvian national Albert Volkausks.

On September 24 2017, Volkausks was lured to a house in Boston, Lincolnshire where he was attacked by 7 men. The vegetable picker was was found with life threatening injuries in the house the follow day after being tied up, gagged and beaten, he died soon after being admitted to hospital.

Three men were jailed for 20 years for murder and two others jailed for manslaughter, Kijakovski was the only one of the group to be acquitted.
