An Oxford college was compelled to withdraw allegations of sexual misconduct against an undergraduate represented by Sallie Bennett-Jenkins QC.

An Oxford College accepted that they were obliged to withdraw an allegation after detailed and comprehensive submissions and disclosure requests revealed significant areas of inconsistency in the accounts of the witnesses and raised issues as to their credibility and the integrity of the allegation. Following the College offering no evidence, a formal finding is no case was made.

The Panel ordered that the College should pay the costs of the accused student for the proceedings.

Sallie was instructed by Ellen Peart and Kate Chanter at BCL Burton Copeland.
