GMC v Dr AM

Marios Lambis advised and represented a senior occupational health practitioner who had been prosecuted by the Crown Prosecution Service in the Crown Court for fraud in respect of what he had charged a large UK multinational company. The General Medical Council relied on the Crown Court transcripts as well as on array of other evidence.

The criminal investigation and that conducted by the General Medical Council spanned some 5 years. The GMC case alleged a greater degree of dishonesty than even that presented by the CPS and alleged that the doctor had given different and inconsistent accounts both in his police interviews, in evidence before the Crown Court and before the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS).

After a hearing before the MPTS, the Tribunal found none of the allegations alleged against the doctor proved.

Marios was instructed by Ian Sadler at RadcliffesLeBrasseur, the insurers were the MDDUS.
