Oliver Glasgow QC & Sarah Przybylska make closing submissions on behalf of the Jersey Law Officers’ Department at the Independent Jersey Care Inquiry

Oliver Glasgow QC and Sarah Przybylska acted on behalf of the Jersey Law Officers’ Department in the second phase of The Independent Jersey Care Inquiry; investigating the abuse of children in Jersey’s care system dating back to 1945.

Yesterday saw both members present their closing submissions to the second phase of the inquiry, which heard from those who worked in children’s services and those accused of abuse.

Oliver Glasgow QC described the work of the Law Officers Department as ‘fair, dispassionate and right.’

The threshold for prosecuting any allegation, no matter how serious, is set deliberately high and the task of those deciding whether or not to charge suspects is a difficult one” – Oliver Glasgow QC

The inquiry is due to publish its final report in December.
