Vivienne Tanchel, instructed by Eve Giles at Kingsley Napley, represented Darrell Read, the first defendant in the “LIBOR broker trial”.

Mr Read faced two counts of conspiracy to defraud relating to his alleged agreement with Mr Hayes to manipulate the daily fix of the Yen London Interbank Offer Rate over a period of almost 4 years.

After a trial lasting almost 4 months the jury retired to consider their verdict on Tuesday 27th January. On Wednesday 28th January the jury returned a not guilty verdict on one of the counts he faced and this morning they returned a verdict acquitting him of the remaining count.
