Today, Monday 30th November, Chris Cairns and Andrew Fitch-Holland were found not guilty of perjury and perverting the course of justice after a 9 week trial at Southwark Crown Court.
Chris Cairns, a former New Zealand national cricketer, was alleged to have lied in libel proceedings in the High Court when he claimed that he had never been involved in fixing cricket matches. Andrew Fitch-Holland, Cairn’s barrister, was also on trial for perverting the course of justice. Both have been cleared of all allegations.
