Christopher Geering
Christopher joined Chambers in September 2009.
After receiving First Class Honours in History from University College, Oxford, Christopher worked for two years in both the Westminster and European Parliaments as a researcher. The following year, in addition to obtaining a Graduate Diploma in law with Distinction, Christopher worked with the Innocence Project on a double murder appeal. He then completed the Bar Vocational School at City Law School, receiving an 'Outstanding', and coming third in the year.
Christopher is an accomplished and experienced public speaker. In addition to participating in numerous debates and moots, Christopher was chosen to represent Lincoln's Inn at the Cambridge Debating Competition and City Law School in the National Mock Trial Competition, where he reached the semi-final. He also won the Blackstone's Mooting Competition.
Christopher received an Exhibition from University College, Oxford and the Bastow Scholarship from City Law School. He has been awarded the Lincoln's Inn Hardwicke Scholarship, the Buchanan Prize, the Lord Denning Scholarship and the Megarry Pupillage Scholarship.
Fiona Robertson
Fiona joined Chambers as a pupil in September 2009 and began her second six in March 2010.
Fiona regularly advises in all areas of criminal law although her practice is currently defence weighted. She appears regularly in the Crown Court, conducting mentions, plea and case management hearings, breaches of orders and committals for sentence; furthermore she has substantial experience in the Magistrates’ and Youth Courts. She has conducted trials across the spectrum of criminal offences, including domestic violence, public disorder and robbery.
She has also developed an interest in regulatory law, having undertaken work for other members of chambers which involved advising the GMC, GDC and GSCC.
Fiona completed Bar school in 2008, with an Outstanding result, for which she was given a prize from the Inner Temple. She was awarded the Inner Temple Sir Joseph Priestly Internship Scholarship for an internship she undertook in 2008 with the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative in Accra, Ghana. During this internship she was involved in co-ordinating public awareness projects on Freedom of Information, and undertook case work on human rights and sexual assault cases.
Fiona is an accomplished public speaker. She was selected to represent Durham University in the International Telder's Mooting Competition and reached the finals of the contest. She continued this success at Bar school, taking part in, and winning, an Inner Temple show case moot against students from Pepperdine Law School, USA. She was chosen from her year to represent the College of Law at the Inter-Providers Mock Trial Competition in 2008 and reached the finals of the College of Law Negotiation Competition.
