Miranda is a highly regarded criminal junior who defends and prosecutes in the Crown Court and Court of Appeal. Although her general practice covers the full range of serious criminal offences including armed robbery, drugs offending, and sexual offences involving vulnerable witnesses, she specialises in serious organised crime and fraud.
She is frequently briefed in such cases by leading defence solicitors and the major prosecuting authorities, in particular the Serious Organised Crime Agency and CPS Special Casework. Her attention to detail, and meticulous analytical approach in paper-heavy cases has led to her becoming a particularly sought-after junior in multi-handed cases.
A CPS Grade 3 Prosecutor and on the Attorney General’s List of Approved Counsel, she also has considerable experience in associated proceedings, including complex confiscation proceedings. In addition, she prosecutes for the Health and Safety Executive, the General Medical Council, the Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform, the Department for Work and Pensions and has recently begun to act for Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs in Vat and Duties Tribunals.
