Angus is a specialist criminal advocate who both prosecutes and defends.

He is regularly instructed by CPS Special Casework as junior counsel (both led and alone) in difficult and sensitive cases. He is a grade 3 prosecutor and has particular experience of complex disclosure issues, public interest immunity, all areas of RIPA and of obtaining and handling evidence from other jurisdictions. He is often asked to provide pre-charge advice.

Angus’ recent prosecution cases have included human trafficking, people smuggling, sophisticated drug distribution and importation, serious corruption in public office and public nuisance. He has also prosecuted for the Medicines Agency and for the HSE. He has appeared in several high-profile Flying Squad trials and as junior in a baby-shaking case.

He is frequently instructed by leading defence solicitors to represent persons charged with serious criminal offences. Recent experience includes cases of money laundering under POCA and fraudulent trading under the Companies Act.
