2 Hare Court has long been recognised as one of the UK's leading sets of chambers. Members specialise in criminal law, fraud, professional discipline (particularly in healthcare), regulatory work and other related fields. We are described by the Chambers and Partners guide as "the current form horse at the criminal bar", "very receptive to solicitors [and] clients", and as "attracting widespread approval for the way in which [our] practitioners conduct themselves", and by the Legal 500 as "a set of choice for many solicitors".

We consistently provide counsel of first choice to the leading defence firms as well as the principal prosecuting and regulatory authorities in London, nationwide and abroad. We have a proven track record of delivering the highest standards of service to clients, together with excellence in advocacy and trial management in cases of the utmost gravity and complexity. In 2008 we were recognised as Crime Set of the Year and Orlando Pownall QC as Crime Silk of the Year by the Chambers and Partners Bar Awards.

Our 53 tenants include 14 Queen's Counsel, 6 Treasury Counsel, 1 Deputy High Court Judge and 18 members who sit as Recorders (part-time judges). A number of members are approved to receive instructions through the Bar Council's Public Access and Direct Access schemes, and our clerking team can provide further information.

Chambers has a strong tradition of public service with representation on the Bar Council and Criminal Bar Association, and makes a significant commitment to Pro-Bono work and Advocacy Training. Many former members of chambers have become judges.

A traditional setting in the Temple, close to all principal London courts and tribunals, is combined with modern technology and facilities providing counsel and clerks with an effective base from which to offer the most comprehensive range of expertise.
