Tom joined 2 Hare Court as a first six pupil in September 2017. Prior to commencing pupillage, he qualified as a solicitor at a magic circle firm where he worked on a number of cartel investigations and high-profile inquiries. In 2015, he worked as the judicial assistant to Lord Dyson MR in the Court of Appeal, where he was involved in several prominent cases in relation to the investigative duties of the police and armed forces.

Tom has a particular interest in international law and sanctions law, and has taught these subjects at undergraduate level. In 2017, he spent five months as a visiting professional at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, where he assisted Judge van den Wyngaert with the appeal in the case of Prosecutor v Jean-Pierre Bemba Gombo. Before that, he worked in the Office of the Co-Prosecutor at the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia.

Tom completed his undergraduate degree in Modern Languages (French and Italian) at Oxford University (First), and is fluent in French, Spanish and Italian.
