Julian Goose QC's highly distinguished criminal practice focuses on a range of serious and complex cases, often those receiving high-profile media attention. He acts regularly for both Prosecution and Defence.

His serious crime practice includes frequent instructions in cases of homicide and high-value drugs cases. He recently acted for the Crown in the much-publicised prosecution of Karen Matthews and Michael Donavan, who were found guilty of all charges relating to the kidnap of Karen's daughter, Shannon Matthews.

In addition, he has particular experience of cases involving complex fraud and financial crime. He also is regularly called upon to advise on and act in regulatory cases, and has appeared in numerous Health & Safety matters, including defending in work-related deaths caused by high-voltage electrocution, machine accidents and drowning.

Julian's work has attracted favourable comment from The Lawyer and the Legal 500's "Who's Who in the Law". The industry guides have recommended him in successive editions as a leader at the Bar, with recent editorial saying he "ranks as a heavyweight for serious crime”.

Julian joined 2 Hare Court in September 2010, and is also Head of Zenith Chambers in Leeds.
