Angus Bunyan
Angus is a specialist criminal advocate who both prosecutes and defends. A grade 4 prosecutor, he is regularly instructed by CPS Special Casework and the Central Fraud Group. He has particular experience of sensitive disclosure issues, Public Interest Immunity and RIPA. Recent high profile cases as a led junior include Operations Bluesky and Greensea (people smuggling) and Karnak (17 handed cannabis importation, ”it is possible to envisage even more serious crimes involving skunk cannabis, but so far they have not come before this court”, Moses LJ).
As a junior alone, he has recently prosecuted attempted murder, corruption in public office and money laundering.
Defence work ranges from representing individuals accused of rape to companies prosecuted by the MHRA. He has recently defended in a bonded warehouse diversion fraud.
Angus has developed regulatory experience, acting for the GSCC and the BSB before professional tribunals. He is currently instructed as junior counsel to the Environment Agency in a large scale illegal waste deposit case.
