October 2006 Terrorist Dhiron Barot pleads guilty on first day of trial. Treasury Counsel, Jonathan Laidlaw, prosecuted on instructions of the Crown Prosecution Service Anti-Terrorist Unit.

The Trusthorpe Murders - Trevor Burke QC and Craig Ferguson instructed by Matt Goode at Bhatia Best Solicitors to defend David Gunn, accused of execution of the parents of a drug dealer in revenge for an attack on a gang member (elderly couple who relocated under witness protection programme to Lincolnshire).

June 2006 Alleged laundering of £200 million MTIC/carousel fraud proceeds by solicitors- Andrew Radcliffe QC represented Sarah Beveridge when she was acquitted of money laundering at Southwark Crown Court. She had been a partner in solicitors' firm, Beveridge Gauntlett, and it was alleged that £200 million, the proceeds of an MTIC/carousel fraud, had been laundered through the firm’s client account. Andrew Radcliffe QC was instructed by Elizabeth Robertson at Peters & Peters.

March 2006 Former president of Liberia, Charles Taylor, is indicted for war crimes and the Special Court of Sierra Leone is transferred to the International Criminal Court at The Hague to conduct trial. Karim Khan, who for the most part practices in various international courts, is defence counsel for Charles Taylor.
February 2006 Bay City Rollers guitarist - Brian O'Neill (instructed by Matt Good of Bhatia Best) secures acquittal of Patrick McGlynn, Bay City Rollers guitarist, in major cocaine trial.
